Wratislavia Translation House translators have always been able to work remotely. This applies both to those working in the company’s internal team and to collaborators. When creating the WTH infrastructure, we provided the option of working directly on the company server (internal translators) as well as on remote desktops (internal translators and collaborators). As a result, our translators have always had access to the technical infrastructure, translation tools and terminology databases. A secure connection and efficient infrastructure have proved invaluable in the face of the coronavirus pandemic and the need for isolation. In this situation, we did not have to take any sudden action, test our throughput or purchase new equipment. All we had to do was to decide to adapt to the restrictions imposed on us all. We closed our newly renovated, beautiful office (we bragged about it on our Facebook profile) and started working remotely.
All we could do was to keep calm, maintain constant communication in the team and be optimistic despite unfavorable circumstances. Thanks to such technical capabilities, our customers did not feel any change and could not complain about the lack of response from us even for a moment. The smooth transition to home office work was also important for our team of translators and allowed us to minimize the negative effects of working in pandemic conditions. We have created such good conditions for our translators that they do not want to sit in the office now! Maybe the purchase of a new, aromatic type of coffee will help the management fill the office and return to the old mode of work…
